Personal Support Specialist (PSS)
📍Maine ⏰ Full-time/ Part-time 💼 Entry Level Welcome

The Personal Support Specialist (PSS) provides non-medical, person-centered care to seniors and adults with disabilities in their homes.
This role focuses on assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), and providing companionship to support, dignity, and quality of life.

Personal Care (ADLs):
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral care.
Support toileting and incontinence care.
Help with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
Assist with feeding and hydration.
Household Support (IADLs):
Light housekeeping and laundry.
Meal preparation and planning.
Grocery shopping and errands.
Medication reminders (non-medical).
Companionship & Additional Support:
Provide emotional support and conversation.
Accompany clients to appointments or social activities.
Monitor client wellbeing and report changes to supervisor.
Follow individualized care plans.

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
PSS certification or willingness to obtain (training provided)
Prior caregiving or healthcare experience preferred, but not required
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
CPR/First Aid certification ( or willingness to obtain)

Ability to lift and transfer clients ( up to 50 lbs with assistance)
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
Manual dexterity for personal care tasks
Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
